My name is Jessica and I have been studying with the Training College for a couple of years now. I have completed my Certificate III in Children’s Services and now I have 6 modules to go in my Diploma.

At first I was a bit hesitant to try online study and complete my bridging courses, but having it all online has been fantastic. I have been able to complete my work a lot faster, it is marked quickly and always have something to go on with.

I have a huge appreciation for my Trainers Rhonda and Cath who have helped and supported me along the way. I have really enjoyed attending the workshops held at Port Melbourne and find these very beneficial. I really get a lot out of them.

All in all I am a very happy student.

I am currently completing my Diploma of Children’s Services as an Apprentice through the Training College. Being online means I can study anywhere, anytime. The modules are easy to read and have links to readings and websites. I find uploading assignments is a quick and easy process and they are marked in a short time frame. My trainer is always helpful and available whenever I need her. I much prefer studying online to the old system of paper based study.

Hi, my name is Frances and I have been studying with the Training College for about 2 years now.
I was impressed when I started my job and they offered to sign me up as a trainee so that I could reach my full potential within the childcare industry. I immediately said yes and am proud to say that I completed my Certificate III in Children’s Services in August 2009. The whole experience was very enjoyable.

I am now studying the Diploma in Children’s Services as an apprentice and look forward to my training days every month. The resources that are supplied are fantastic and the environment is great. It has given me the chance to meet many people from other Centres and I have learnt so much that has helped me perform to the best of my abilities when I am working with children.

I would highly recommend GoodStart Training College to any child care worker that has not currently got a qualification. The new online system is so convenient because you can study anywhere, at any time, not just in class and it is self paced so you can do as much or as little as you like over the weekends.

It is a great program and the support that I have from my Trainer and Centre Director is wonderful.

As an Area Manager with ABC Learning Centres I work very closely with Elaine, the Training Mentor for my Area, to support students working in the local Centres. Elaine and I have a great working relationship. I feel that she has a great rapport with her students and is very supportive in assisting them to complete their studies.

Everything is provided for, the unit readings, assessments and all the templates for observations and everything you need to complete your assignments. If you get stuck, help is just a phone call away.
It is a very straight forward process to access and instantly enrol in new units. You can see which ones you have completed and choose which unit you want to do next.

Workshop days are available to students to attend which is fantastic as we have full internet access for any additional research.

GoodStart Online is not only accessible through your workplace but on any computer with internet access so you can move through assignments as quickly as you like.

Susan - Certificate III, VIC

Hello my name is Susan and I am married with two grown up daughters. I first became interested in childcare 28 years ago when I had my first daughter and joined the Mother and Toddler group at the local school. Eventually they asked me to run the sessions there and as the children got older I progressed to running the kinder group.

I immigrated to Australia in 1999 and I then gained a position as an Assistant at a Centre which was later acquired by ABC Learning. Last year I decided that it was time I gained a qualification in Childcare. As I have not had any experience in studying for the last 35 years it took a lot of courage for me to take that first step. I joined the local community centre and completed 2 computer courses before I enrolled with the Training College.

The experience I have gained since I first started my course is unbelievable, and the team has always been there to support me whenever I have had to call with questions. It has taken me about 18 months to complete my Certificate III, and I have just completed my last module and I have fulfilled one of my life’s ambitions in becoming fully qualified Assistant.

Melissa - Diploma, QLD

Hi my name is Melissa. I am currently studying my Diploma through an Apprenticeship whilst working full time as a group leader in the baby room at my Centre.

As I am in my second year of the Diploma I was able to experience the transition from paper based modules to online study.

At first when I started my diploma I found it very confusing using paper modules. Since the smooth transition to GoodStart Online, I have really excelled in my study. I had no troubles enrolling myself into the first module and completely understood the requirements. Over the past 5 months I have completed a record breaking number of modules and I feel really successful in my achievements. The readings give a great explanation of the subject and the assessments are clear in outlining what is needed to gain competency for the module.

Along the way I cannot forget the amount of support and guidance that has inspired me to complete my qualification. My Trainer Clare has been a wonderful inspiration for me throughout my study. If I require help or understanding she is always willing to run through procedures with me and praise me on my efforts.

I’m enjoying studying with GoodStart Training College, and will continue to develop my qualifications through GoodStart Online.

My name is Sarah and I am a Centre Director for ABC Learning Centres. I have six employees currently studying either their Certificate III or Diploma of Children’s Services with the Training College and I have only heard positive things from them. From the feedback I received from my team and seeing firsthand how easy GoodStart Online was to use, I decided to study my Advance Diploma of Children’s Services and started in February.

What the team and I like about GoodStart Online is that it is easier to submit work and working only on two modules at a time keeps you focused. With online study there are no books to carry around, you can find readings and information easier and most of all it saves paper.

The support from our Trainer is great; we can call or email her and always get a fast response. I also like that you can chat to your Trainer or other students who are online at the same time as you.
