How is this course delivered?
The CHC50908 Diploma of Children’s Services has been designed to deliver a total of 18 units of competency within four modules. Each module contains two or more units of competency grouped together by similar themes or topics. This method of delivery makes the learning journey more relevant to the candidate’s day-to-day role in a long day care centre.

Before entry into the CHC50908 Diploma of Children’s Services can be granted, candidates must have completed the following prerequisite units of competency. Candidates are able to complete these units of competency through the Diploma Entry Program. If you would like to know more about the Diploma Entry Program, please contact Student Services.

CHCCN302A Provide care for children
CHCCN305B Provide care for babies
CHCCN303A Contribute to provision of nutritionally balanced food in a safe and hygienic manner
CHCFC301A Support the development of children
CHCPR303D Develop understanding of children's interests and developmental needs
CHCPR301B Provide experiences to support children's play and learning
The CHC50908 Diploma of Children’s Services is now delivered via Module Training Booklets and Module Assessment Booklets not via the eLearning platform. The Module Training Booklets are housed on the GoodStart Training College website which candidates may download at anytime. If a candidate wishes to receive a printed copy they may request for one to be sent via post by contacting Student Services.
Candidate progress is controlled by the release of the Module Assessment Booklets for each module. Candidates will be required to request for a new Module Assessment Booklet to be sent to them by contacting their trainer.
Candidates will study in their own time and at their own pace, and each candidate will have 2 years to complete the course (Trainee’s and Apprentice’s course duration may vary by state).
When can I start studying?
Candidates are no longer able to start their study at anytime. Candidates will now study in cohorts and won’t commence the course until a set date. Each cohort and start date are set 8 weeks apart, with the first commencing 16 January 2012. Listed below are the cohort start dates until July 2012. Applications received after the cut-off dates will automatically be placed into the next available cohort.

Course Fees
This course is charged at a per unit cost. As this course is delivered in modules, each module has a different price – depending on how many units of competency are within each module.
